One-on-one

Goal

To help team members reflect on key takeaways from the meeting and identify a next step to maintain momentum.

Description

This easy-to-use reflection tool will help team members to identify the main “things” they take from the meeting and a key upcoming activity to keep the momentum going. By doing this you can strengthen learnings and turn them into upcoming activities.

1.        Before wrapping up your meeting, workshop, or event, introduce this reflection activity.  Explain to participants what they’ll be doing and why it matters. Let them know that this activity will help them consolidate their learning by:

o   Identifying 3 key things they’ve learned or found meaningful

o   Noting 2 lingering questions or topics they’re curious about

o   Choosing 1 action they’ll take as a result of this session

2.        Model the activity first by sharing your own examples or reflections so participants understand what’s expected.

3.        Give participants time to reflect quietly, encouraging them to write down their answers. This can be done with post-its, journals, a shared document, or digital tools like Mentimeter.

4.        Invite participants to share their reflections.
Depending on time and group dynamics, sharing can happen:

§  In the full group (anonymously or openly),

§  In small breakout groups,

§  Or in one-on-one conversations.

5.        Wrap up by highlighting any common themes, questions, or next steps that emerge. Address them to reinforce shared learning and potential actions.
